Born 1969 in Buffalo, NY, into a musical family, Brian McKnightsoon became a member of his grandfather’s church choir. In his teenage years he explored various music genres, wrote his first songs and became the band leader of his high school band. By the age of 19, McKnightthen signed his first record deal with Wing Records.

In the course of his career, he released 15 albums, with several reaching platinum status. In 1997, his album »Anytime« sold more than two million copies and was nominated for a Grammy. In 1999, he released »Back at One« on Motown Records, which sold more than three million copies and reached No. 2 in the US album charts.
Furthermore, McKnightcollaborated with performers across every genre including Justin Timberlake („My Kind of Girl“), Mariah Carey („Whenever You Call“), Christina Aguilera („Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas“), Celine Dione („Because You Loved Me“) and Vanessa Williams („Love Is“).
2002, McKnight received Grammy nominations for 2 songs: »My Kind of Girl« as well as »Win«, the title song of Robert de Niro’s movie »Men of Honor«.
In addition to being a singer-songwriter, arranger and producer, McKnightis also a multi-instrumentalist who plays nine instruments including piano, guitar, bass, drums, percussions, trombone, tuba, flugelhorn and trumpet.
McKnight is also widely present on radio and TV. After various radio shows, such as »Soul Session Countdown with Brian McKnight« and »The Brian McKnight Morning Show«, he started hosting his own radio show »The Brian McKnight Show« on ABC Radio in 2009. Soon thereafter, McKnight also presented his own Late Night TV show.
